ECS-Plex SF #4 (30 Liquid Vegetable Caps)

Part of the Specialty Formulas Series, ECS-Plex Formula 4 supplies an 80 mg per capsule complex of minor and acidic cannabinoids as ECS Cannabinoid Blend #4.

Beyond the well-known cannabinoid CBD (cannabidiol), ECS-Plex Formula 4 provides a significant amount of 3 other biologically active cannabinoids. Our blend includes the cannabinoid CBG (cannabigerol) in both its natural acidic form (CBGa) and in its decarboxylated (heated and transformed) state. ECS-Plex Formula 4 also provides CBDa, the acidic precursor to CBD that provides many beneficial properties distinct from CBD. 

Each of the cannabinoids in our proprietary blend provides unique benefits and also works together with the others to contribute to a more comprehensive effect in support of the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS).

Minor Cannabinoids

While CBD and THC are the most recognized cannabinoids in the hemp plant, scientists are beginning to uncover more information about the distinct effects and benefits of lesser-known minor cannabinoids in hemp, such as CBG. Referred to as "minor" due to their lower concentrations in the early strains of the hemp plant, their potential therapeutic effects are anything but minor. Sometimes called the "mother of cannabinoids," CBG is the first, original cannabinoid produced near the start of the plant's growth cycle. All other cannabinoids are then synthesized from CBG as the plant matures. ECS-Plex Formula 4 includes 20 mg CBG per capsule.

Acidic Cannabinoids

Before the hemp plant is exposed to heat, cannabinoids in their natural form are found in an acidic state. Examples are cannabidiolic acid (CBDa) and cannabigerolic acid (CBGa). When acidic cannabinoids are heated during distallation through a process called decarboxylation, or sometimes through aging under the sun, the carboxylic acid group is expelled in the form of CO2. This reaction is what transforms CBGa into CBG and CBDa into CBD. To create ECS-Plex Formula 4, beneficial acidic forms were preserved, and our blend includes 30 mg CBGa and 20 mg CBDa per capsule.

Initially, the acidic forms of cannabinoids were mistakenly believed not to be pharmacologically active. However, new research has challenged this belief and is exploring the exciting biological and therapeutic potential of these acidic precursors.
